All players must be members in good standing with MBA ($20.00)
A $10.00 single use tournament membership will be offered for this tournament because it is the last tournament of the year. This membership is not extended for any purposes beyond this tournament.
Players must be available to play for the entirety of the tournament in case of unforeseen circumstances.
Tournament Description
The YONEX Manitoba Provincial Championships are here once again and this time they will be held at University of Winnipeg's Duckworth Centre. It was part of Badminton Manitoba's desires to using Provincials as an event that could as accurately as possible emulate the conditions that will be played in at Jr Nationals, so participants can look forward to the following new aspects to our year end tournament: 8 YONEX Portable Badminton Courts, Big Gym (University) Setting, Seating for 1000 and possible use of Livescore technology (digital score display during finals).
The tournament will follow an A/A-Consol B/B-Consol format, with all players starting in A and dropping down to A-Consol if winning first match and then losing second, dropping down to B's if losing first match, , and dropping down to B-Consol if losing first match of B's. Players are guaranteed 3 matches in this format except for in unforseen circumstances (walkover win, match retired, etc.)
Approximate Schedule
Friday 5:00pm - Singles
Saturday 8:30am - Doubles Followed by Mixed
6:30pm - Annual Awards Banquet @ King's Head Pub
Sunday 10:00am - Finals
Refund Policy: Badminton Manitoba does not permit refunds of MBA Memberships or Tournament Registration Fees unless requests are accompanied by a medical note or immediate family crisis.
Availability: Participants must be available to play during the entirety of the tournament. MBA will not accept special requests for time, for any reason.
Due to speed of play being unpredictable, participants are asked to be ready a minimum of 30 minutes prior to their posted match. It is ultimately the player's responsibility to be present for the start of their match
The tournament will enforce a strict 10 minute disqualification rule and 3-minute warm-up rule
Clothing: Participants must have an indoor change of clothing and non-marking athletic shoes
Equipment: Participants must bring their own racquet(s)
