All junior players have the option of playing in their age category or playing up to whichever category they wish.
Age categories with event entries of 3 or less may be combined with higher age group to allow for greater # of matches for each player.

Tournament Description:
The Eastman Open is changing it's name to Southman Open and moving down to the friendly city of Winkler!
We are excited to move this tournament which has brought out as many as 145 players in the past for some friendly competition and smashing memories, because it aligns us perfectly with Manitoba Winter Games by having a prominent sanctioned tournament in every MWGs Region, and allows us to better service the badminton/athletic community of the South more directly.
This is the perfect tournament for players who have never entered a tournament before and want to get their feet wet.
Perhaps you've played in school, really enjoyed it, and maybe even excelled at it; then this is the place to go.
Maybe you're looking forward to the school badminton season coming up and want to get yourself motivated and have a jump start to your season.
This is also the place for adults who play regularly or semi-regularly; tournaments are not just for the intensely competitive, it is a great opportunity to make friends and memories, and play people you wouldn't normally get to play.
Regulations:
Refund Policy: Badminton Manitoba does not permit refunds of MBA Memberships or Tournament Registration Fees unless requests are accompanied by a medical note or immediate family crisis.
Availability: Participants must be available to play during the entirety of the events that they are registered for. MBA will not accept special requests for time, for any reason.
Due to the speed of play being unpredictable, participants are asked to be ready a minimum of 30 minutes prior to their posted match. It is ultimately the player's responsibilityto be present for the start of their match.
The tournament will enforce a strict 10-minute disqualification rule and 2-minute warm-up rule.
Clothing: Participants must have an indoor change of clothing and non-marking athletic shoes
Equipment: Participants must bring their own racquets

Saturday 9:00am Singles Continues or Doubles Begins
Saturday 2:00pm Mixed Doubles Begins
Events will be fully completed including the finals prior to the next event beginning
NOTE: Depending on Numbers the U13, U15 and U17 events will be at Garden Valley Collegiate and U19 and Open events will be at Northlands Parkway Collegiate
