The Manitoba Badminton Association will be teaming up with Toby Ng to offer a Doubles Athlete Clinic here in Winnipeg to help Toby fundraise as he pushes to qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Toby recently narrowly missed qualifying for Sport Canada Athlete Assistance funding ($18,000) largely due to improper calculating of the World Ranking points and, never to back down from a challenge, he has now started a fundraising campaign titled "Rio for Real: Toby Ng's Olympic Run". The goal of the fundraising campaign is to raise $20,000 to assist the Mixed Doubles team of Toby and Alex to travel and compete internationally in order to accrue enough World Ranking Points to qualify for the Canadian Olympic Team. When brainstorming a way that the MBA could assist Toby it was clear that a Doubles Athlete Clinic would offer a lot of value to local athletes, coaches and badminton enthusiasts alike, while still achieving the goal of assisting Toby in his Olympic run. Toby Ng has been brought to Manitoba multiple times before in the hopes of tapping into his knowledge on doubles and mixed doubles and these camps have always been successful.  Toby and Alex will be coming to Winnipeg for the upcoming Prairie Senior Elite making this the perfect opportunity to conduct this clinic.

The Athlete Clinic Details are as follows:

Sunday, October 25th: 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. @ College Louis Riel

Monday, October 26th: 5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. @ The University of Winnipeg

Cost: $70 ($60 for member of the High Performance Program)

All funds raised go directly to Toby's fundraising campaign.

Spectators are encouraged to donate.
