The Championship was held in Vancouver on January 9-11, 2015, with BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan also competing.
Manitoba sent 8 athletes to the games that consisted of Mark Shinnie, Olivia Meier, Jeevan Khanuja and Claire Meier for
U17. The U15 players consisted of Christopher Wiebe, Jeanette Ding, Anthony Tan and Bodin Boissonneault. Team coach
was Dale Kinley. The team consisted of some veterans and some “newbies” to this particular event. For some team
members this was their first away tournament. Our players learned a great deal about team competition and being
prepared! Although we didn’t come home with a medal, our team bonded, developed new friendships and played.
The event was well run by Penny Gardner, the Executive Director of the Badminton BC and hosted by the Hollyburn
Country Club.
Coach Dale Kinley, who did a wonderful job of coaching the players was very proud of the way his players behaved,
represented the province and performed the whole weekend!
