Honoring the Late David Ross

2010 MASRC Aboriginal Coach of the Year Award

2013 Badminton Manitoba Coaching Achievement Award

Husband & Father

David Ross was a passionate father, teacher and leader in the community of God's Lake Narrows, using badminton as a tool to give kids the opportunity to develop healthy habits, learn respect, work ethic, dedication and sportsmanship.

God's Lake Narrows being a fly-in community for the majority of the year meant that David was often fundraising to pay for his athletes to attend tournaments in Winnipeg, Thompson, Fort Frances, and elsewhere.  He also brought his athletes to tryouts for Power Smart Manitoba Winter Games, Summer Camps in Winnipeg and other training opportunities available to his kids.  David would accompany his team on most trips as well.

For David's leadership in the community of sport of Badminton, the Manitoba Badminton Association and its Board of Directors would like to present the following award each year at the Norman Open:

David Ross Excellence Award

1 award will be given annually to the junior athlete that exhibits the following characteristics: Hard Work, Sportsmanship, Fair Play & Positive Attitude
