Terms of Employment: Permanent Full-Time and/or Permanent Part-Time (weekend, day,
evening) 1 – 2 positions available
Salary/Benefits: Dependent on ability & experience; continuing professional training and
skill development will be provided.
Requirements:
• Passionate about badminton
• High technical knowledge of the sport of badminton
• Minimum two years of training experience under a relevant high performance program
• Ability to train and play at high speed
• Efficient, responsible and enthusiastic
• Ability to work well with others
• Committed and willingness to grow with the Academy on a long-term basis
• Preference is given to candidates with NCCP Level 1+ Certification or equivalent
certification/qualification
• Preference is also given to candidates who have demonstrated outstanding performance
in provincial or national level competitions
• Educational Requirement: Minimum post-secondary diploma or certificate
• Language requirement: English (Ability to speak a second language is an asset)
Job Duties:
• Plan, develop and implement training and practice sessions
• Observe and evaluate prospective athletes’ skills and performance
• Train and coach athletes in a group or one-on-one setting
• Demonstrate skills and techniques of badminton
• Participate in coaching clinic instruction; Analyze and identify athletes’ or team’s
performance, weakness and strengths
• Discuss coaching plan with the athlete and family
• Develop, plan and co-ordinate competitive schedules and programs
• Motivate and prepare athletes or teams for competitive events or games
• Implement and build competitive strategies and game plans
• Travel with team to competitions when required
• Assist in club activities
• Willingness to conduct school clinics an asset
