2010 MBA Positions Available

The Manitoba Badminton Association currently has two positions available that will be beginning May 4th with an application deadline of April 27th at 3pm. One position will be primarily office administration and one position will be directed towards the operation and planning of our Summer Camps that will be running in July and August. Office Assistant Position Available at Badminton Manitoba
Badminton Manitoba has an opening for a FULL TIME OFFICE ASSISTANT running from May 4 to August 21 2010. Badminton Manitoba is a very busy Provincial Sport Association run under the mandate of Sport Manitoba. We implement many programs, clinics, camps, and tournaments. In addition, we take part in many special events such as the recently past 2010 Manitoba Winter Games as well as the upcoming 2011 Western Canada Summer Games. We aim to provide playing opportunities for all that want to play and/or compete in our sport. Covering grassroots play to the training and development of potential Olympic athletes, Badminton Manitoba has something to offer everyone!
Having said this, our Office Assistant would quickly become a valued member of our team, helping us out with a tremendous variety of tasks such as overseeing summer camp registrations, answering phone inquiries and concerns, responding to community emails, updating our website, participating in program evaluation strategies, planning our upcoming season and miscellaneous other duties that arise each and every day. There would never be a dull moment and no day would ever be the same!
We ask that our candidate be proficient with Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office Software, Adobe Contribute Software, Internet Explorer and the usual office equipment. Knowledge of the sport of Badminton would of course be an asset as well. So get ready for a busy summer, but most of all to join a team that is going to appreciate your efforts and allow you to gain valuable work experience gain some valuable office experience within a fun athletic environment.
This program is funded by the Urban Hometown Green Team project of the Manitoba Healthy Living, Youth and Seniors sector of the Provincial Government. This sponsorship allows Badminton Manitoba to hire additional support to plan and implement their programs. Hourly wages will be dependent upon one’s qualifications. Interviews will get underway ASAP and the successful candidate will begin employment on Tuesday May 4.

Badminton Camp Conductor
The Badminton Camp Conductor will be one of the lead coaches during the Summer Camp in July and August. You will also be starting the position in the badmintn office for the May and June months in which time you will begin planning the Summer Camps as well as other outreach initiatives.
The ideal camp conductor will be:
- A competitive Badminton Player
- Fully level 1 certified or better
- Able to work with computers
- Be able to speak effectively to a large group
- Will be in charge of supervising the early drop off each day of the camps
- Able to work in leadership of conducting a full Badminton Camp
- Able to supervise and co-ordinate activities of associate/assistant coaches
- Will be required to work in the office to organize and conduct exhibitions to promote Summer Camps and Badminton as a whole
- Maintain attendance log of athletes, coaches, and able to identify talented athletes who could be invited to our advanced programs.
- Provide reports on each of the camps as well as a final report to include overall issues and accomplishments.
